EVS from Latvia coming at 01.12.2009 Name: Aine Period: One Year Date: 01.12.2009 - 01.12.2010 Sending Country: Latvia Project Name: "Active in the change of our future" For one year the volunteer will participate in the preparation and implementation of activities related to leisure time of the young people and their non - formal education, tolerance and the willingness to actively participation in positive change of the region and Europe and its young people. Participation of the volunteer related to implementation of the municipal strategy for young people - affirmation of values and civic activity in the contribution of youth in meaningful community youth space. The staff of the Youth House in Sliven, together with the young people in the city, will initiate activities aimed to spread knowledge about the adaptation and formation of values, connected with utility and self-establishing in society. The volunteer will work and incorporate European experience and methods in the non - formal education in Sliven, Nova Zagora. Kotel and Tvurditsa and will promote volunteer work and the European Volunteer Services. Activities initiated by the team will make it possible to use informal methods of lobbying, initiating and solving problems in partnership with local authorities. Project team activities are carried out in partnership with the municipal council, municipal administration, schools and youth organizations and clubs on the territory of Sliven Municipality. Target groups are young people from different social and ethnic groups who live in ethnic tolerance. Together with the volunteer will work towards promoting non-formal education through meetings, training initiatives in Nova Zagora, Kotel and Tvarditsa. Volunteer will have the opportunity to get acquainted with culture and tradition of the youth community in the Sliven region,will help in making contacts for the establishment of partnerships with youth organizations from European countries.
